Model Envy: Paris Fall 10'

L to R| YSL, Lanvin, Comme des Garcon, Tim Hamilton and Givenchy

L to R| Viktor & Rolf, Raf Simmons, Louis Vuitton, Dior and Ann Demeulemester

Paris mode semaine etait manifique! Stefano Pilati got loose with YSL, it was a fight against the expected tight with slouchy pieces, harems etc! there were even evening gloves thus using womenswear as inspiration but keeping it masculine! Alber Elbaz and Lucas Ossendrijver over at Lanvin= PERFECTION for me! I thought this collection was "slap you mum for a laugh" bad! It was rougher than Jack Sparrow and slicker than Bond! Moving next to Comme des Garcon who innovated as expected. Other designers done the 4 piece suit but I think they executed it with the most quirky flair! I love a cut and paste approach to fashion when done seamlessly and Tim Hamilton took this approach with his collection... impressive stuff all in all. As for Monsieur Tisci he took it to church with Givenchy and I would gladly worship in look 15 as well as other praise worthy looks. I could wear Givenchy forever! Those trousers (scroll up... first row... fifth picture.. yeah that one) are just... *ponders* RIGHT!

Viktor and Rolf always play by there own rule book, the pleated trousers, printed denim ( see above) were truly ready to wear! Next in line Raf Simmons who on a whole didn't blow me away but separate pieces eg. the blazer above caught my eye and sang "move closer..." MJ (the fashion one) and Paul Helbers brought the heat in this drab january month with the Louis Vuitton fall collection! So a new word was born "Bleisure" the baby of father formal and mother casual. The shoes and bags are what I loved most, I suggest a peak at the Christian Schoeler painted bags. Dior Homme, traditionally known as the house of all things skinny went all gandolfian not wasting good fabric! Last in line is Ann Demeulemester who presented a strong show! I loved the cape in look 2 of her collection... why you ask... well we all need a cape... don't we?

Bags and Boots

Overall Paris was bloody funny...

that was a runway inspired gag... you get it?! Come ooon that's funny right?! yah!

Envy End!

Me x
