Open Lab #8: Editorial "The Seventh Son"

No secret that Chris Arundel is one of my favourite male models and this story shot around the outskirts of one of the the studios at Big Sky really stemmed from vibes, from the music we were listening to, the clothes and of course Chris's mellow presence really complemented to the story to produce a short but effective editorial. It was Martine Rose's SS13 collection that really triggered my vision for this story.

Small room filled with trinkets, 7 strong team, maze to get location and tea is how I'll remember this story. To be fair, any shoot with Georgie will include a lot of tea.

This was the last editorial I shot last year and it's a favourite; getting seriously throwback as of late!

Editorial: Hunger TV "An Early Retirement"

Lately I've been a bit obsessed with old legendary gals like Little Edie, Edith Piaf and I've always been fixated with twisted suburbia. This story is takes from that,  two young girls summoned to melancholia (which is a reference also)

Open Lab #8: The Collections

NEW STORY!

I will always remember this story for a number of reasons;

1) First time Open Lab has done a collections story 

2) Location issues; original location swept from under out feet day before shoot
3) Flight issues and hotel scamming
4) All the normal stresses of shooting; getting full show looks on time, casting, light etc

It didn't just all come together, it seemed we had everything thrown at us but working with such a great team and shooting in the beautiful No.9 French Place we managed to achieve this story. For this I imagined a day in the life of a married vampire couple. From home to work to dinner date with the Addams. The day of a modern couple who choose blood over wine. Light topic.

Editorial: DASH Magazine "Bacon's Samba"

No secret I'm usually a "moody" stylist, a lot of my portfolio being quite dark. Lately I've been doing a few more colourful shoots and this story I shot early December last year is most definitely that. Loved the technique photographer Woland used on this editorial!

The whole team  did an excellent job but model Mikayla really impressed me on this shoot, 10 inch platforms, big hair, full body make up and this girl never missed a beat!

Early December last year I received an email from the lovely and talented designer Simon Ekrelius asking to meet, long story short soon after I went to meet him (with my big suitcase of returns) in Soho for tea. After briefing me on direction for this upcoming season he asked me to bring my "crazy, artistic" vision to the fall campaign film. I said yes.

It was my last job of 2012 and the first I get to see and share in 2013! Check out this warped amazing film for Simon's AW13/14 collection I styled.

I was first introduced to Purified on the model side of the camera when I was chosen to be one of the faces in their For every shoe, a person campaign. After this I kept in touch with the talented designers and moved back into the everyday roll... styling. Film: Wolf and Badger "Autumnal Adventures"

Late October last year I was asked to style this project and could't say no because of who was asking, Wolf & Badger, the idea, the location etc! The shoot took place on the eve of my birthday (halloween) with a talented and fun team at the the amazing Petersham Nurseries....



From the housekeeper catching a chicken first attempt that she thought we wanted her to kill to the company, to the surprise birthday song and cake when shoot wrapped and the cab ride back central to party with more friends... it was easily a highlight of the year.
