If you google Ziad Ghanem words and phrases such as "Vogue", "Couture", "Cult Couturier" and of course "Lebanese" will appear on your electrical rectangles. It'd be a crime with a death sentence not to at least have a nose and find out a bit about the man behind words. Unlike other designers from the concept of his creations to the final stages of crafting and showcasing you can really tell it's been a Cinderealla fit. No size 5.5 in a size 5. His team and the models (familiar faces) used are intentional, sporadic in features, each a continuation of the garment. If that description is lost on you, what I'm saying is in a line of mental creators he's one of few who's creations come from a collaborative effort. Head and heart. Sadly couldn't make the presentation/ afterparty last Monday however I was kindly sent the film and press release. Here is Ziad Ghanem S/S 2011 "Mother Russia"...

“Mother Russia” is the title of Ziad Ghanem’s Spring/Summer 2011 collection. The inspiration of the collection comes from the global influence on individual’s characters. How modern cities accumulate immigrants and as they assimilate into society, the historic citiesshifts by borrowing references from its new inhabitants.
*The filmic style pays homage to the dramatic Russian fables of spirituality and guilt inspired by the Soviet Era, those by Andrey Tarkovsky and Mieczyslaw Weinberg.
The presentation held during London Fashion Week started as a static display that was awoken by a dream-like music. Each look breathes to life, displaying the most sensuous prints in vibrant colours.
Ziad's directorship once again provided the capacity crowd with an overwhelming experience.
